It is very hard to turn your materials in this composter. It’s labor intensive and hard on your back. I’m 5’5″ and when I take off the lid to turn the materials, my face is right over the top of it and all of the flying knats come up and get in my face. It’s gross. I’m getting a new compost tumbler with a crank handle. This one is going in my recycling bin. Hope this review helps.

  2. Plain and simple it is to hard to airrate. You basically have to turn it over with a pitchfork or something. Because of the hight it is a major strain to your back. when it gets wet the contents is very heavy and difficult to move. Because of the lack of air movement it takes a very long time to complete composting. I never tried a rotating one but from the looks of them they seem to have a much better design. This is nothing but a glorified box i dont see anything in the desingn that would help to speed up the composting process. you are better off getting a big plastic bin or a garbage can and cut the bottom out and drill wholes because that is essentially what this is. do not buy this product.

I’ve had this bin for about 5 years and it’s been very reliable!

The bin itself is sturdy enough to stay square on mostly flat ground and lift up to turn and reload the pile a couple of times per year.

The little sliding door works fine to peek at the progress on the bottom although I’ve never used it to unload finished compost.

The lid is sturdy and can be locked tight if you have pesky critters but I don’t so mine just gets closed loosely and is heavy enough to stay put. My 5 yr old bin is as good as new but I found that I needed a second one as my family and garden grew. I was thrilled to be able to find the same exact model through Amazon AND it was a much better price than any of the comparable bins in my gardening catalogs!

So, I just put the composter together, so I realize giving this product 4 stars is not without risk. That being said, the quality of the plastic is great & assembly went smoothly. It currently sells for $39 at Sams Club and at that price, I might be sorry I didn’t buy two.

The product was easy to put together and the finished product is light-weight, but very sturdy. The lower doors are convenient and easily accessed, and the locking mechanism on the top is great to keep out critters. Simply put – great product.

The Amyloidosis Foundation estimates that approximately 3,000 people are diagnosed with amyloidosis each year in North America and that blood cancers overall have increased more than 40% in the last decade.

A rollable composter really is a great addition to any garden. We have a Composhere and it has transformed the way we garden. We simply roll it to where we want to put compost down and open it up, so we don’t have to lug the compost half way across our garden. It helps to create better compost, faster too.
